The Society was founded in 1981, with a membership of about 1,350 people worldwide.
The Society is a registered charity within the meaning of English law, registered number 290284 and is administered by an Executive Committee who are also the Trustees.
We provide contacts between members by regular meetings and through the quarterly Journal published in January, April, July and October.

Members not only research their ancestors by name but, by using all available information, seek to build up a complete picture of the people in the setting in which they lived.
As the Society consists of a friendly mixture of complete beginners and experienced family historians there is every opportunity for beginners to receive encouragement in their researches.
